Close sensitive tabs before you chat. Banking, medical portals, tax filings, and password managers — keep them outside your AI browsing session.

Protect your privacy. AI never needs passwords, Social Security numbers, banking credentials, or sensitive identity information. If you would not post it publicly, do not paste it into the chat.

Install from official sources only. Use official vendor websites and trusted in-app updates when installing or updating AI software. Do not install from email links, search ads, third-party download sites, or unsolicited messages.

If Atlas was moved to your trash: Your version may be outdated. Reinstall the latest official version from chatgpt.com/atlas. Do not bypass operating-system warnings or click untrusted "fix" links.

Keep your software current. Older versions can stop working when vendors rotate security certificates. When ChatGPT Atlas prompts you to update, update.

Use AI for coaching, not sensitive transactions. AI can help you think, plan, and decide. It should not manage sensitive financial, medical, legal, or identity-related matters on your behalf.
